Modelling Hydrology and Global Change
- Course dates: Monday 12th to Friday 16th July 2021
- Location: Online event
- Organisers: Victoria Barlow, Toby Marthews and Marcia Spencer
The Hydro-JULES project will be running a Summer School from 12-16th July 2021. The school will be a fantastic opportunity to bring together a small group of undergraduate and post-graduate students, and early-career scientists from all over the globe to refine their skills in land-surface and hydrological prediction. The school will teach introduce cutting edge developments in the fields of water and the environment, land surface science, water resources, ecology, hydrometeorology, biogeochemistry and other related research areas. Students will develop an understanding of the principles of hydrological systems at large catchment, continental, and global scales, and be able to apply it in local projects all round the world.
Applications to the summer school for 2021 have now closed.
Key Note Talks
Coordinated and delivered via an online platform the Summer School features a series of keynote talks by a cross-section of Hydro-JULES scientists.
Background
The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) is a world-class research organisation focusing on land and freshwater ecosystems and their interaction with the atmosphere.
Hydro-JULES is a NERC-funded research programme which will build a three-dimensional community model of the terrestrial water cycle to underpin hydrological research in the United Kingdom (delivered by CEH in partnership with BGS and NCAS).
