Joining Instructions
Welcome to the Hydro-JULES School joining instructions Web page.
In order to participate in the Hydro-JULES School you will need:

A fully-charged laptop or tablet together with a webcam/in-built camera.

Good-quality access to the internet.

Ability to use an affiliated email (i.e. an institutional email provided by an academic or private institution, not a personal gmail, outlook or hotmail address).

Access to a UNIX/Linux-based system eligible for JASMIN access as described on https://jasmin.ac.uk/users/access/ . Please note that the JASMIN servers will automatically refuse access from unaffiliated machines that do not have reverse DNS entries (e.g. personal laptops), so please check with your IT support or IT manager at your affiliated institution (whether academic or private) to ensure that this sort of access is possible.

Access to a video-calling system with sufficient bandwidth to maintain a Zoom/Skype/Microsoft Teams/Other call, as set out on https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/204003179-System-requirements-for-Zoom-Rooms to attend the sessions online. You can test your bandwidth online (e.g. https://www.comparitech.com/internet-providers/speed-test/): 2.0 Mbps upload and download is sufficient for video calling.
In addition to this, you will require access to the following systems (n.b. the application process for some of these logins can take up to 10 days, so please ensure that you have allowed sufficient time for any technical difficulties to be resolved.
