Prof Bryan Lawrence

Bryan is the Director of Models and Data at the UK National Centre for Atmospheric Science and Professor of Weather and Climate Computing at the University of Reading.

Bryan's career has taken him from his native New Zealand where he studied for his undergraduate and PhD degrees at the University of Canterbury, to the University of Oxford, the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and back to New Zealand before he returned to the UK in 2000. After roles leading the British Atmospheric Data Centre and the newly created Centre for Environmental Data Analysis at the STFC, he moved to the University of Reading to concentrate on the research and development necessary for the full gamut of modern environmental e-infrastructure (from computers to data and modelling systems).
