Dr. Andrew Hughes

Andrew Hughes is Principal Groundwater Modeller at the British Geological Survey. Andrew’s research focusses on object-oriented groundwater model development, particularly with reference to groundwater recharge modelling and simulation of groundwater flooding.

Andrew leads BGS’s work on Hydrological Extremes and Feedbacks in the Changing Water Cycle Programme, in collaboration with Imperial College, University College and Reading University and is PI for the GROMIT project which seeks to understand the impact of Climate Change on the efficiency of Ground Source Heat Pumps. Andrew is Secretary of the OpenMI Association.
